Metropolitan Boy is a performative photo-walk around the City of Melbourne. It consists of a map containing portraits of the artist holding a wooden red brick which he carries around while performing a desired personality, Metropolitan Boy. A yellow analog point-and-shoot camera is used to capture the performer being followed around the city. Through his walks, the artist reflects on ideas that these walk inspires and uses these to produce designed postcard explaining the Metropolitan Boy’s. In a 2025 iteration of the work, the artist used a instant polaroid camera and his noticable brick to include the audience in his portraits, giving the power to the viewer to perform Metropolitan Boy.
